Police are appealing for information following a collision in Narborough Road, Leicester, this morning (Friday).
Officers were called to the area near the junction with New Fields Square just before 10am this morning following a report of a collision involving a blue BMW car and a pedestrian. The car had subsequently collided into a tree.
East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the scene. The pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, was taken to hospital where she currently remains with serious injuries.
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was also taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
An investigation is continuing at the scene and officers are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the collision. As part of enquiries, an appeal is being made to anyone with any information to make contact.
Officers are appealing to anyone who was in the area this morning and saw the collision or saw the vehicle driving beforehand, but who has not yet spoken to police, to make contact.
Additionally anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area this morning is also asked to get in touch.
