Officers are appealing for information following a report of a fight involving a number of people at the junction of Evington Road, St James Road and St Stephen’s Road, Evington, in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).
Police were called at 2.48am reporting five men fighting in the street. Officers attended, however no-one was at the location upon arrival.
As a result of initial enquiries two men, aged 38 and 36, have been arrested on suspicion of affray. They have since been released on bail.
Three men were injured. One man in his 30s remains in hospital in a serious, but stable condition. A second man, also in his 30s, had minor injuries and has been discharged. One man left prior to police arrival.
Enquiries are ongoing and a scene preservation remains in place in St James Road.
Detectives would like to speak to anyone with any information who may have been in the area at the time of the fight and who may have seen those involved.
