A driver has died following a fatal road traffic collision in Shepshed.
Police received a call at around 1.10am this morning Wednesday (10 June) regarding the collision on the A512 Ashby Road West near Shepshed.
The collision involved a green Ford Fiesta and a white HGV.
The driver of the Fiesta, a man in his twenties, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
The HGV driver was not injured.
At the time of the collision, the HGV was travelling towards Shepshed while the Fiesta was travelling in the opposite direction.
Officers from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the collision.
We would like to appeal to anyone who saw the collision or the circumstances leading up to it to please get in touch.
Anyone who may also have dashcam footage which captured anything relating to the collision is also asked to make contact.
