There has been an increase in reports burglaries across the ward.
Issued 01 April 2026
There has been an increase in reports of burglaries across the ward. A priority offender linked to this offending has now been arrested, and since this intervention there has been a noticeable reduction in burglary offences across the area.
In response to the wider issues, targeted patrols have been implemented in affected locations, informed by analysis of incident times and patterns. Officers have conducted reassurance patrols and carried out enquiries at repeat locations, with forensic opportunities and CCTV explored where available.
Engagement has taken place with victims to provide crime prevention advice and ongoing support. Neighbourhood officers have also liaised with local residents to encourage the reporting of suspicious activity and to increase overall vigilance within the community.
Beat surgeries are taking place across the ward to provide opportunities for the public to raise concerns directly with officers, discuss burglary prevention, and address local issues.
This work will continue through sustained patrol activity, intelligence‑led tasking, and ongoing engagement with the community, alongside partnership working where appropriate, to reduce further offending and maintain the recent reduction in burglary across the area.
