Local Police are aiming to reduce Anti-Social Behavior around the Warwick Way Estate.
Issued 01 October 2024
ASB around the Warwick Way estate remains a priority for the beat team.
A Problem Management Plan is still in place alongside the Leicestershire Anti-Social Behaviour Team and will ensure a multi-agency response to tackling the problems that are raised. Regular patrols are held by beat officers for the area as well as assistance from our response team colleagues.
This issue remains a topic for the Loughborough East Delivery Group, a multi-agency meeting held monthly. The ongoing issues will be addressed in that meeting to discuss all available approaches to addressing the issues.
Intelligence work is ongoing for a potential hotpot for drug dealing, just on the periphery of the Warwick Way estate. Robust action will be taken to reduce and resolve such actions.
Update:
Proactive patrols are ongoing in the Warwick Way estate to address the reported issues of ASB. Figures show that there has been a decline in reported ASB, but the beat team still treat the area as a priority – making regular visits and conducting targeted patrols, with the assistance of specialist units.

Police are developing and targeting people within the area that are drug dealing, exploiting vulnerable people by cuckooing addresses and causing anti-social behaviour from this type of crime.
Issued 01 October 2024
Drug dealing and exploitation of vulnerable people remains a priority for the beat team.
We continue to gather intelligence from the community, providing a robust response by executing search warrants and proactively looking to stop those we believe to be dealing drugs, applying any necessary closures order to stop the criminality and protect the public.
There is currently 1 active Closure Order relating to an address linked to vulnerability and County Lines drug dealing. There are another 2 in the pipeline as we are proactively looking to disrupt those drug lines running through the community through such measures as Closure Orders and warrants.
Officers have been focusing attention on the Steeple Row area of Loughborough in relation to drug taking/dealing and street drinking. There have been a number of people detained, stop checked and arrested by officers in relation to drug possession and other linked offences. Investigations are ongoing and this will continue to be monitored. Officers will be updating the public on the work ongoing in that area. A Problem Management Plan has been implemented for that area and the beat team continue to patrol, with continued support from our specialist colleagues.
Update:
November has seen the beat team working hard alongside proactive teams, executing warrants at addresses that are causing most harm to vulnerable individuals.
The team have attended court to obtain a partial closure order for an address, again with a view to disrupting drug activity and protecting the community. There are more closure orders that are being put together at the time of writing, once these are secured – visits will be made to enforce these and will be monitored along with the others on the beat.

Community engagement continues within the Beat and a specific Police operation is in place to tackle vehicle crime in the area
Dedicated patrols remain ongoing, at times with support from our specialist colleagues (traffic and dog handling) to specifically target the areas of concern around vehicle crime. These will be published on our Facebook page to update the public that these take place.
Update:
The beat team are happy to state that vehicle crime overall has reduced for the month of November. This will still remain a priority for the team, as the run up to the Christmas period historically shows upwards trends of theft offences. The team will continue to actively patrol the area and build intelligence to deal with offenders of vehicle related crime robustly.
