Your dedicated neighbourhood team
Your Dedicated Neighbourhood Team (DNT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Retail theft on the beat has increased significantly compared to last year.
Action taken:
Throughout the month, officers have carried out regular patrols at key retail locations and engaged directly with store management and staff to better understand current issues and identify repeat offenders. These visits have provided reassurance to businesses, encouraged the reporting of incidents, and helped gather intelligence to support ongoing investigations and future enforcement opportunities.

There is an issue with drugs and an increase in reporting of their use and dealing.
Action taken:
There continues to be concern regarding drug use and suspected drug dealing within the area. Officers have engaged with vulnerable individuals believed to be at risk of cuckooing and exploitation, while also developing intelligence around suspected drug dealing locations and persons of note.
Work has been undertaken alongside partner agencies to adopt a joint problem-solving approach to addresses causing concern, with information being collated to support potential warrant applications and future enforcement activity.
The team has also assisted in safeguarding vulnerable persons and relocating them to places of safety where appropriate.

ASB has been raised as a concern
Action taken:
Anti-social behaviour remains a concern for residents and local businesses.
Officers have worked with partner agencies to identify longer-term solutions to youth-related ASB and have engaged with local businesses to better understand the issues affecting them and identify those responsible.
Regular high-visibility patrols have taken place at known hotspot locations to deter offending and provide reassurance to the community. Enforcement action has also been taken where appropriate, including the seizure of an e-bike from a juvenile on Park Road following reports of anti-social use.
These activities will continue alongside ongoing engagement with residents, businesses and partner agencies.
