Your Dedicated Neighbourhood Team (DNT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Retail theft on the beat has increased significantly compared to last year.
Issued 01 July 2026
Work continues with partner agencies and local retailers to tackle theft offences and improve crime prevention through target hardening measures. High-visibility patrols have been carried out across the area, and officers have arrested suspects whilst at stores in connection with theft-related offences.
Officers have also assisted with enquiries involving prolific offenders, resulting in charges for multiple theft offences and breaches of Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs). Engagement with local businesses remains ongoing to identify opportunities to prevent theft, deter offenders, and improve the safety and security of retail premises.

There is an issue with drugs and an increase in reporting of their use and dealing.
Issued 01 July 2026
Following intelligence received from the community and partner agencies, work has been undertaken to address concerns relating to drug use and a location suspected of being used for drug-related activity.
Officers have been working closely with the local council to tackle the longer-term issues associated with the location and identify sustainable solutions. Intelligence continues to be gathered regarding areas known for drug use, and regular patrols are conducted to deter offending, disrupt anti-social behaviour, and provide reassurance to local residents.
Ongoing partnership work remains key to addressing these concerns and improving the safety of the area.

ASB has been raised as a concern
Issued 01 July 2026
Concerns have been raised regarding anti-social behaviour involving youths causing damage to property. The beat team and response officers have attended reported incidents, with several youths identified and spoken to. These individuals are currently being managed through the incremental approach, ensuring appropriate interventions are put in place to address their behaviour and prevent further incidents. Regular patrols have also been undertaken at the affected location to provide reassurance and deter further anti-social behaviour.
Reports of off-road bikes have reduced over recent months, which is a positive development. Patrols will continue at known locations to deter their use and respond to any further reports from the community. In addition, officers continue to conduct patrols at previously identified hotspot locations and local businesses to prevent anti-social behaviour, address community concerns, and maintain a visible police presence.
