I joined Leicestershire Police in 2008 and have been fortunate to work across a wide range of departments and teams helping set up several teams (Missing from Home Team, Digital Hub and Cybercrime Unit) which are now a core part of the forces service delivery.
I was fortunate enough to be a dedicated neighbourhood officer in 2010 and having spent the last 11 years in a range of Detective Roles I am thoroughly enjoying being back in a public facing uniform role where I hope that my passion and drive to work with and serve the communities of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland helps build those necessary relationships to ensure we can all work together to make this a great place to live and work for our families and communities.
Landing in East Leicester in 2024 I took on responsibility for half of the area and six months later I took on the entirety of the Community Engagement and Neighbourhood Policing for East Leicester. A steep learning curve for sure but having had great support from the local command team and the communities we serve I have learnt plenty and identified plenty more I do not know.
East Leicester has one of the most diverse demographics in the country and it brings its own set of challenges that I will continue to strive to understand and deal with appropriately without fear or favour.
I would ask that the communities of East Leicester look to the police as a part of their community and allow us to do what we need to do locking up those who cause the most harm and safeguarding those who need it.
My motto will always be that when we have to “police to our community” it means we have failed. What we should aim to do is police as part of the community.
I began my policing career in 2005 as a Custody Detention Officer in our custody facilities before becoming a Constable in 2007.
My early years were spent on response teams in Hinckley, Market Bosworth, and Loughborough.
I then worked on Neighbourhood Policing Teams in Loughborough, dealing with a variety of community concerns, before moving to the Neighbourhood Priority Team where I focused on tackling high-level crime, particularly drugs enforcement.
Over the years, I’ve been part of our public order units, working on major operations across the country—from serious disorder incidents to high-profile events like the Olympics and visits from presidents and dignitaries.
Before moving to East Leicester, I spent nine years in Specialist Operations Policing, gaining extensive experience in complex and high-risk environments.
In 2024, I was promoted to Sergeant and took up my current role as Neighbourhood Sergeant for the Evington and North Evington (formerly Coleman) beats. I bring with me nearly two decades of policing experience and have listened to your concerns regarding road safety, leading to me implementing **Operation Syphon**, our dedicated road safety policing initiative. Please see our social media pages for further information about Operation Syphon.
I’m keen to hear from you about the issues that matter most to you. I encourage you to sign up to **Neighbourhood Link**, attend our **beat surgeries**, to come and meet me and my team, and help us better understand your concerns so we can work together to make our communities safer.
