Theft of and theft from motor vehicles continues to be a problem over the Greater Hinckley beat area.

Throughout June there has been a fall in theft of and theft from motor vehicle offences. Officers continue to conduct hi-visibility patrols in key areas to tackle these offence.

Reports of drug dealing and using at several addresses on the beat, attracting undesirables to the location and often resulting in ASB (Anti-Social Behaviour) and disorder at the addresses.

Over the past 6 months the beat team have been working on a problem management plan to tackle drug use and supply in the Greater Hinckley area, specifically around a handful of addresses. This has been effective and has reduced drug use/supply in those area.
The team have also conducted a patchwalk in conjunction with Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council around the Clarendon Road area in response to reports of drug use.

Speeding of vehicles along several roads on the beat, breaches of weight restrictions and bridge strikes all lead to a feeling amongst the community that road safety is an issue.

Officers have been deployed weekly at targeted times to tackle a recurring issue being reported whereby cars are speeding down Normandy Way.
A temporary road closure had to be implemented to allow a HGV to complete a U-Turn to avoid a bridge strike on the A5. The driver was given suitable words of advice.
An inconsiderate driver who used the footpath with their vehicle was issued with a Section 59 Warning.
