Your Dedicated Neighbourhood Team (DNT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Vehicle Crime – Theft from vehicles in Measham and Appleby Magna.

You Said: You have raised concerns regarding an increase in vehicle related crime including theft of, and theft from vehicles. This has been most notable within Measham and the surrounding villages.
We will: We are working with specialist teams and partners in neighbouring forces to ensure we have a realistic and targeted patrol plan. We have been conducting patrols with the assistance of response colleagues and continue to pay attention in the areas affected.
We have been liaising with local councillor stop discuss CCTV options and have developed a specific waymarker in the area to monitor police presence.
We are also continuing to develop the investigations and evidence around those offences reported to us.
We have been working hard to target those causing harm in this area. This has included pro-active targeted patrols plans with a way marker in place to monitor police presence in specified areas.
Targeted night time patrols to ensure we are visible at times crime is being committed.
Working with neighbouring forces to ensure we are following a joined up approach.
Continued contact with local community leaders and Councillors to ensure we are exploring all options.
Detailed crime prevention advice and contact with our communities via Neighbourhood Link and our dedicated social media channels.

Drug Dealing in The Close Albert Village

You said: You have said that there are increased issues surrounding drug dealing and associated ASB in the area.
We will: We have developed a patrol strategy to target and disrupt those causing harm. We will continue to monitor and develop intelligence and will look at enforcement options where able. We will also work with partner agencies to ensure we are working effectively.
We have liaised with partners and are working on a date to complete some joint visits in the area.
We have been conducting regular patrols in the area and speaking to those present.
We are working to develop our intelligence picture to consider further actions and are committed to dealing with this issue which is causing harm to our communities.

Road Safety – Speeding – Moira and surrounding areas

You said: You have reported issues related to vehicles in and around Moira. This includes speeding, inconsiderate parking and use of our road networks.
We will: We have planned targeted speeding operations in the areas most affected. We will work with partners in road safety and will look to educated and take positive action against those found to be driving with disregard for laws and safety.
We have completed one speeding operation in the areas you have raised as having continued issues. A number of advice letters and enforcements have been issued.
We ave four further targeted speeding operations planned over the coming months and will continue to provide updates on here and on social media channels.
