E-scooter and high-powered electric cycles on the Ward continue to blight the community.

This is a concern that is constantly raised by members of the community, despite high-profile guidance around the use of such vehicles in public places.

A proactive and dedicated operation, Operation Pedalfast has been continuously run by the Beat team with support from the Special Constabulary and will be continued for the foreseeable future.

Despite increased social media reports and broadcasts on other channels, the issue surrounding illegal use of e-scooters and high-powered modified e-bikes continues.

A number of operations have been conducted over the last three months which has resulted in a further 27 E-Bikes and 46 E-Scooters seized on the beat and wider NPA.

We are currently addressing concerns regarding a noticeable increase in reports of shop theft from retailers across the beat

Our focus in the coming months on working closely with local businesses to prevent further offences, identify repeat offenders, and ensure robust enforcement action is taken.

High-visibility patrols and targeted operations have been conducted by the beat team and the Safer Streets Team.

A number of individuals have been either arrested or voluntarily interviewed in relation to shop theft and charged with a number of offences.

Increased reports of Anti-Social Behaviour including drinking, loud music and persons congregating in open space across the beat causing a nuisance to residents. Areas include Ellis meadows, Abbey Park and Abbey Meadows.

A Problem Management Plan has been created for a partnership working approach using the incremental approach to deal with identified preparators.

Officers have continued completing high visibility and plain clothes patrols. A number on individuals have been identified and action taken within the ASB incremental approach.

Increased patrols using high visibility and plain clothes officers will be be utilised to offer increased police visibility and increase community confidence.
