Your Dedicated Neighbourhood Team (DNT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
General ASB - results from survey conducted via Neighbourhood Link, indicate that this is a priority concern on the area. Incidents of criminal damage and arson around the Netherhall Area, focusing on the parks and open spaces and congregation points at Netherhall Neighbourhood Centre where there have been instances of damage and arson.

Police officers and Police Community Support Officer’s (PCSO) are addressing this with a multi-agency approach with crime prevention advice being given to the premises officer at Netherhall Neighbourhood Centre and funding has been applied for by the premises officer for grates for the windows there and anti-vandal paint for the roof area.
Local Police Officers and PCSO’s are able to access the premises at any time as they have keys for the premises and can work at the premises on in an effort to dissuade perpetrators from attending there and causing problems. Any perpetrators identified will be dealt with promptly and appropriately.

Nuisance Motorbikes- inappropriate use of motorcycles and quad bikes on open and green spaces around the Hamilton Park area during the summer months. Results from "my views" survey conducted via Neighbourhood Link, indicate that this is a priority concern on the area. This is complimented by information received directly to local officers and calls from members of the public.
Intelligence and evidence is received from members of the public where riders drive through the area, often without helmets to access the parks and open space areas.

NE12 beat officers and PCSOs will be at the forefront of tackling this issue, we use the information and intelligence received to identify the areas frequented by riders, but also to identify the riders along with their vehicles. Officers and PCSOs will be using S59 powers and also S165 powers to effectively warn and where necessary seize nuisance motorbikes and use available legal powers to prosecute the riders. There will be regular patrols and engagement with the community to endeavour to resolve the issue.

NE12 Beat Police Officers and PCSO’s have completed a community consultation in the vicinity and some vehicles have been recovered as a result of regular patrols within the area. This will continue and when individuals or premises are identified we will endeavor to use the appropriate legal avenues to deal with the identified criminal offences. We always take a multi-agency approach to issues such as this
