Your Dedicated Neighbourhood Team (DNT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Drug Dealing and Drug taking- results from "my views" survey conducted by the local team, via Neighbourhood Link, indicate that this is a priority concern on the area. The team have also identified some key areas including area around the Herongate Road

The team are continually working to address these concerns by working alongside partner agencies to gather information and intelligence to develop opportunities enforcement.
We will conduct high visibility patrols, develop intelligence, gather evidence of the persons involved and progress investigation.
The team are actively using intelligence and partnership working to tackle drug dealing and drug use in the local area. Those responsible for drug offences are being arrested and where possible prosecuted.
Those using drugs will be supported to rehabilitation where they wish to receive support.
By working with the local community and partner agencies we can target and address key areas of concerns and take appropriate action. This collaborative approach ensures that we not only disrupt the distribution of drugs we also signpost those affected by drug misuse to our partner agencies who can assist with treatment and rehabilitation.
We currently developing some information around Smedmore Close, and working with Leicester City Council to address and target the perpetrators.
Redwood Play area, a green space off Redwood Walk is also on our radar to conduct high visibility patrols and keep ASB to a minimum.
This work is ongoing along with acting on other information to develop and act on the information to reduce these issues in the identified areas.

Road Safety - results from "my views" survey conducted by the local team, via Neighbourhood Link, indicate that this is a priority concern on the area.
Dangerous parking, drink and drug driving, use of mobile phones whilst driving, and speeding being particularly concerning to the community.
Locations of note: Victoria Park Road, Gipsy Lane, and local schools including Falcon Primary.

The team continue to address your concerns regarding road safety in the local area through a combination or partnership working and enforcement.
By working in conjunction with partner agencies and listening to the local community we are able to identify high-risk areas and develop longer-term solutions through traffic calming measures and more appropriate road signage.
You will see your beat officers providing patrols at local schools at key times to improve the safety of pupils, parents and road users.
Our team have planned speeding, road traffic offending and vehicle checks operations across the Northfields and Morton estates throughout the coming months, to catch those breaking the law.

Update 18th December 2025 - we have noticed a reduction in the use of the off road motorbikes, naturally due to the weather.
Patrols are built into the beat teams day to day work around schools, particularly primary schools to tackle road safety issues, we also look to engage the Leicester City Council in order to enforce civil fines relating to parking and child safety seats and use of seat belts.
Falcons Primary School has been noted as a location of concern for parking and road safety, officers have been patrolling since the commencement of the school term when their availability has allowed.

ASB General - results from "my views" survey conducted by the local team, via Neighbourhood Link, indicate that this is a priority concern around green spaces. We will complete partnership work and patrols around green spaces to identify and manage anti-social behaviour (to include street drinking nuisance motor bikes and linked offences)

The local beat team has identified that there is a theme regarding anti-social behaviour occurring on and around the local green spaces. These being Cravens Recreational Ground, Tower Park and around the Morton Estate. We are committed to addressing these issues by working alongside the local authority, local residents and community groups/organisations.
We aim to create more enjoyable public spaces through increased patrols and enforcement efforts to deter those committing antisocial behaviour, whilst our collaborative efforts will help implement long-term solutions.
Officers will continue to carry out high visibility patrols in the green spaces of this beat particularly with the warmer weather which will see an increase of users of these green spaces, we will work to identify the perpetrators of ASB and take appropriate positive action, using all powers available to the Police but also those of the Local Authority.
The team continue to work with the Councils Wardens and Leicester City Council to identify effective working strategies to address ASB with a focus on deterrence and prevention.
We will continue to liaise with local communities and hold beat surgeries to direct our focus.
We have already conducted a join operation with LCC Parks Team which resulted in advice provision, warnings, and fines. We aim to conduct further operations jointly with partners agencies to advise, warn and then issue fixed penalty notices to those committing anti-social behavior offences.
