  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Drug Dealing/Drug Taking - results from "my views" survey conducted by the local team, via Neighbourhood Link, indicate that this is a priority concern on the area.

    Issued 30 June 2025

    Action taken:

The team are continually working to address these concerns by working along side partner agencies and develop intelligence to aid in enforcement.

Once enforcement has taken place, we will continue to work with partner agencies in the form of the Local Authority/Housing Associations and Landlords to secure evictions to minimise the potential for re-occurrence at those locations.

The team are actively using intelligence and partnership working to tackle drug dealing and drug use in the local area. Those responsible for drug offences are being arrested and where possible prosecuted.

By working with the local community and partner agencies we can target and address key areas of concerns and take appropriate action. This collaborative approach ensures that we not only disrupt the distribution of drugs we also signpost those affected by drug misuse to our partner agencies who can assist with treatment and rehabilitation.

The team have also identified a number of cannabis grows over recent months, which have been dismantled, the drugs destroyed and those identified as involved have been arrested. This work is on-going.

  • Priority:

Road Safety - results from "my views" survey conducted by the local team, via Neighbourhood Link, indicate that this is a priority concern on the area.

    Issued 30 June 2025

    Action taken:

The team continue to address your concerns regarding road safety in the local area through a combination or partnership working and enforcement.
By working in conjunction with partner agencies and listening to the local community we are able to identify high-risk areas and develop longer-term solutions through traffic calming measures and more appropriate road signage.
You will see your beat officers providing patrols at local schools at key times to improve the safety of pupils, parents and road users.
Our team have planned speeding, road traffic offending and vehicle checks operations across the Northfields and Morton estates throughout the coming months, to catch those breaking the law. Watch out for them.
The team will also be targeting motorbikes and those causing a nuisance and ASB. You will signs being placed across the beat area warning against riding motorbikes on our green spaces.
Please contact the team if you have any concerns.

  • Priority:

ASB General - results from "my views" survey conducted by the local team, via Neighbourhood Link, indicate that this is a priority concern around green spaces.

    Issued 30 June 2025

    Action taken:

The local beat team has identified that there is a theme regarding anti-social behaviour occurring on and around the local green spaces. These being Cravens Recreational Ground, Tower Park and around the Morton Estate. We are committed to addressing these issues by working alongside the local authority, local residents and community groups/organisations.
We recently held a patch walk alongside the council, park wardens and fire service. You will have noticed an improvement in cleanliness and reduction in street drinking and regular patrols with the beat team taking action with those causing ASB.
We aim to create more enjoyable public spaces through increased patrols and enforcement efforts to deter those committing antisocial behaviour, whilst our collaborative efforts will help implement long-term solutions.

Officers are performing plain clothed and high visibility patrols in open spaces, ASB hot spots to identify perpetrators of ASB and are taking appropriate positive action.

The team continue to work with the Councils Wardens and Leicester City Council to identify effective working strategies to address ASB with a focus on deterrence and prevention.

We will continue to liaise with local communities and hold beat surgeries to identify issues.
Your beat team will be conducting door to door surveys and consultation across the various estates. Our intention is to identify where and when ASB is taking place and target these areas in order to tackle this issue. We require honest feedback from the community about how they feel the Police tackle anti-social behaviour on the estates and how the public can work with us in regards to this. In addition there will be opportunity to sign up to our monthly newsletter and a system called Neighbourhood Link where you'll receive monthly newsletter and other updates around what your beat team have been doing.
