Your dedicated neighbourhood team
Your Dedicated Neighbourhood Team (DNT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Crimes of burglary from dwelling through the rural villages beat.
Action taken:
Throughout the next 3 months we will be running our darker nights campaign. Raising awareness of the need to ensure that timers are used and we will be holding several crime prevention events to provide advise and offer crime prevention equipment. Additional patrols will be completed in hot spot areas at key times of the night and where offences occur, we will ensure that the beat team personally visits the location to maximise opportunities for identifying offenders.

There has been an increase in e-scooters being used, predominantly in the areas of Groby, Ratby and Desford. This is causing alarm to residents in these areas.
Action taken:
We will reduce the anti-social and unlawful use of e-scooters within Groby, Ratby and Desford through targeted patrols, engagement with local residents, and proactive identification of offenders. Encourage members of the public to report incidents and provide CCTV, dashcam or Ring doorbell footage where available to support enforcement opportunities. Work with partner agencies and local schools where appropriate to raise awareness of legislation and road safety, with the aim of reducing offending, addressing community concerns and improving public confidence.

Hare Coursing in the rural parts of the beat, due to darker nights this becomes more frequent
Action taken:
We will reduce incidents of hare coursing across the Rural Villages Beat through high-visibility patrols in hotspot locations during peak offending periods, particularly throughout the darker months. Work closely with the Rural Crime Team, local farmers, landowners and partner agencies to gather intelligence, disrupt offenders, increase public reporting of suspicious activity, and raise awareness of rural crime to prevent offences and reassure rural communities.
