Your dedicated neighbourhood team
Your Dedicated Neighbourhood Team (DNT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Shoplifting is a persistent problem in the town centre. Having had a successful last quarter in tackling this issue, we are seeing an emerging trend of offenders using the rail network to travel to Hinckley and commit shoplifting offences.
Action taken:
Officers were called when a store member utilised the retail radio network to report that four females had left the premises after removing security tags from items and failing to make payment. It was reported that each female was carrying a bag containing suspected stolen items. Information was circulated via the retail radio system, including live updates regarding the suspects' direction of travel, enabling local retailers and officers to monitor their movements and assist in locating those involved. The woman had stolen over £400 worth of items from TK MAXX and just under £20 from B&M. All females were stop searched and all items were recovered and returned to the store. Three of the females were eligible for the out of court disposal and admitted the offence and the terms of the community resolution.

Priority:
Anti-social behaviour in open spaces around the town including Argents Mead, the Leisure Centre, and Castle Street. As we move into the summer months, this problem is expected to continue.
Action taken:
Patrols have increased in the location. Reports have ben received in relation to ASB in the Brittania Centre and Sainsburys, our ASB recording system ECINS has been updated and Officers are working to identify the youths concerned.

Street drinking is a problem in the town centre, with repeat individuals taking alcohol to Argents Mead and Castle Street, in contravention of the PSPO.
Action taken:
A male has been arrested for public order and the breach of civil injunction.
