Your dedicated neighbourhood team
Your Dedicated Neighbourhood Team (DNT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Shoplifting is a persistent problem in the town centre. Having had a successful last quarter in tackling this issue, we are seeing an emerging trend of offenders using the rail network to travel to Hinckley and commit shoplifting offences.
Action taken:
A male has been arrested as part of Operation Detect, a local initiative dedicated to proactively targeting repeat and prolific offenders within the Hinckley and Blaby policing areas. The male had stolen goods over multiple occasions from Sainsburys.

Priority:
Anti-social behaviour in open spaces around the town including Argents Mead, the Leisure Centre, and Castle Street. As we move into the summer months, this problem is expected to continue.
Action taken:
Regular proactive patrols have taken place around Hinckley Town Centre and our open spaces. We have conducted a beat surgery at the leisure centre and attended an Emergency Services day at The Crescent.

Priority:
Street drinking is a problem in the town centre, with repeat individuals taking alcohol to Argents Mead and Castle Street, in contravention of the PSPO.
Action taken:
Our anti social behaviour recording system has noted 2 regular street drinkers. The beat team are managing this.
