I am Inspector Matt Allingham, I have been a police officer in Leicestershire since 2004. I have worked in a variety of roles across Leicester and Leicestershire in that time. I joined the job to protect people and prevent crime and 20+ years later that is still the reason I do this job. In the early part of my career this was mainly done by arresting people myself and getting them into court ... as an Inspector I now support and direct the officers and staff who do the arresting and investigating so that we can use our resources to give the best service we can to the people of Blaby.

The beat team continue to support our colleagues on response with regards to burglaries that occur in the area by conducting high vis patrols and assisting with investigations where required.
