Our Safer Streets team have been working with retailers to increase confidence in reporting crime and ensuring that they are supporting investigations by submitting their CCTV footage. This has resulted in more suspects being identified and more reports being taken to court.
We have also carried out early morning plain clothes patrols, which has resulted in the arrest of regulars that keep returning. Due to this extra work we have been carrying out, we have increased our detection rate from 3% to 51% compared to last year, which is great to see.
