Tackling vehicle anti-social behaviour and driving offences in the area around Granby Street, Wellington Street and Belvoir Street.

YOU SAID:

-You want to enjoy the Granby Street and surrounding area but vehicles causing anti-social behaviour and committing driving offences are preventing this.

We did: Officers conducted high visibility patrols in the area and engaged with local businesses and residents regarding the ongoing issues. We have seized a number of vehicles under the new Section 59 legislation which allows vehicles to be seized on the first encounter rather than the second as well as those committing driving offences including driving without a licence and insurance.

Tackling drug related issues on Museum Square and New Walk

YOU SAID:

You want to enjoy the open space on Museum Square and New Walk but drug dealing and drug taking are preventing you from doing this.

WE DID:

Officers have been conducted dedicated foot patrols in the area responding to community intelligence and active reports. This has included engaging with a number of individuals in the area regarding their behaviour and developing the broader intelligence picture.

Tackling anti-social behaviour in our public places like parks, seating areas and pedestrianised zones

YOU SAID:

You want to enjoy our public spaces during the summer months and persons committing anti-social behaviour such as street drinking prevent you from enjoying this.

WE DID:

Officers have held targeted engagement events in our open spaces particularly during the evening time. We have spoken with lots of members of the community regarding the local spaces and their thoughts and feelings in these areas. We will continue to utilise the PSPO where possible and our other ASB powers.
