about

Your Dedicated Neighbourhood Team (DNT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

Proactive patrols have been carried out at known hotspot locations, including Garendon Park following a series of deliberate fires. As a result of this activity, a suspect was identified, arrested and subsequently dealt with by CID colleagues.

Concerns relating to off-road motorcycles continue, with ongoing patrols and support from Roads Policing colleagues to disrupt offending and identify those responsible. Several youths involved have now been identified and an incremental intervention approach will be taken with partners and families where appropriate.

A patch walk was also conducted alongside local authority partners, during which officers spoke with residents and members of the BMX club regarding concerns in the area. This engagement has helped develop a better understanding of the issues affecting the community, and work continues to gather information and identify long-term solutions.
