  • Priority:

  • Priority:

Road safety continues to be one of the most frequently raised concerns by residents across the Rural North Beat area. Feedback gathered through Neighbourhood Link surveys, community consultations, beat surgeries, social media engagement and day-to-day interactions with the local policing team consistently highlights the importance of addressing road safety issues.

Common concerns include speeding, careless driving, road traffic offences and the wider safety of all road users within our rural communities. As a result, the neighbourhood team will continue to focus on proactive patrols, community engagement and enforcement activity where appropriate.

Following the latest quarterly priority review, road safety has been identified as an ongoing priority for the Rural North Beat and will remain in place until the next review period. The team remains committed to working with residents and partner agencies to address concerns, improve road safety and reduce the risk of harm on the local road network.

    Issued 01 September 2026

    Action taken:

We continue to see road safety concerns raised by residents across the beat area, with reports of speeding, careless driving and other road-related issues regularly being brought to the attention of the local policing team.

We remain committed to tackling these concerns through a combination of proactive patrols, enforcement activity and attendance at road traffic incidents, helping to improve safety for all road users.

Following ongoing community engagement, concerns have continued to be reported regarding motorcyclists using the B676 corridor though these particular reports have reduced in the last month.

As a result, targeted patrols will remain in place, with enforcement action taken where offences are identified.

Positive enforcement activity has continued during this period. In the last month, officers stopped a vehicle on Nottingham Road, Bottesford due to concerns regarding the driver's manner of driving. The driver subsequently failed a roadside breath test, was arrested, and later charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

Road safety will remain a key priority, with officers continuing to work proactively to address community concerns and reduce the risk of harm on the local road network. There are a number of meetings planned with local Cllrs to discuss road safety.

  • Priority:

The Rural North Beat covers a large and predominantly rural area, and we recognise that offences affecting residents, farmers and local businesses can have a significant impact on both victims and the wider community.

Feedback gathered through community engagement, Neighbourhood Link surveys, local meetings and direct contact with officers continues to highlight concerns around rural crime. These concerns include burglaries, hare coursing, thefts from farms and agricultural vehicles, and offences affecting rural heritage sites.

As we enter the autumn and winter months, when rural crime and burglary offences have historically increased due to longer hours of darkness, the neighbourhood policing team will continue to focus on prevention, intelligence-led activity and proactive patrols to help protect our rural communities.

Following the latest quarterly priority review, Burglaries and Rural Crime will remain a policing priority for the Rural North Beat until the next review period. This will ensure continued focus on tackling offending, supporting victims and addressing the concerns raised by our rural communities.

    Issued 01 September 2026

    Action taken:

There continues to be a gradual reduction in rural crime and burglaries across the Rural North area, which remains encouraging as we enter the latter part of the year and darker nights.

While occasional reports of rural-related incidents and burglaries are still being received, overall levels continue to remain lower and these reports are far more sporadic than they have been in the past.

Rural patrols remain ongoing, with continued efforts to identify opportunities for disruption and prevention. A proactive approach is being maintained to help sustain and build on the reduction seen so far.

  • Priority:

Through ongoing community engagement, including discussions with residents, local partner agencies, Neighbourhood Link surveys, beat surgeries and feedback received through our social media channels, anti-social behaviour continues to be identified as a concern within parts of the beat area.

Concerns raised by the community include reports of nuisance behaviour, public disorder, and acts of anti-social conduct that can negatively impact residents' quality of life and sense of safety.

In response, the neighbourhood policing team will continue to focus on visible patrols, early intervention, and partnership working to address identified issues. We remain committed to working with local authorities, community groups and residents to tackle anti-social behaviour, prevent further incidents and provide reassurance to those affected.

This priority will be remaining in place for now.

    Issued 01 September 2026

    Action taken:

Following continued monitoring, incident reviews, ongoing investigations, and feedback from local residents, there has been a sustained reduction in reports of antisocial behaviour (ASB) across the majority of the beat area.

This positive trend is believed to be the result of the proactive and collaborative approach taken by local partners, community groups, and residents in addressing identified issues.

While overall ASB levels remain lower, isolated incidents continue to occur sporadically, mainly Bottesford.

As such, proactive patrols will continue, alongside the ongoing management and review of the Bottesford Problem Management Plan to ensure emerging concerns are identified and addressed at an early stage.

Partnership working remains a key focus and will continue into the back end of the year to try and reduce incidents further.

Police will continue to work closely with partner agencies and the local community to maintain these improvements and address any issues that may arise.
