  • Priority:

SAFETY ON OUR ROADS: Every quarter, the Rural North Beat Team review the beats current priorities and what matters to you the most. This is done through social media, neighbourhood link surveys, community consultations and much more. Road Safety is something that is raised often and remains a policing priority for the the rural north area.

As part of the latest quarterly review, this priority will remain in place until the next quarterly review in January 2026.

    Issued 01 June 2026

    Action taken:

We continue to see familiar trends in relation to this beat priority, with ongoing road‑safety concerns and incidents regularly reported to the beat team.

We remain committed to attending road‑related incidents, including collisions and wider safety concerns, ensuring a prompt response and continued efforts to keep all road users safe.

Following recent community engagement, concerns around bikers using the B676 corridor have started being reported, as such, patrols in the area will continue as well as enforcement activity where able.

  • Priority:

    Burglaries and Rural Crime

The Rural North Beat, as its name suggests, covers a predominantly rural area. We recognise that thefts affecting individuals and businesses can have a significant impact—not only on those directly involved, but also on the wider community and local industries.

From your feedback, we understand that issues such as hare coursing, burglaries, thefts from farms and agricultural vehicles, and heritage crime are key concerns. These will continue to be a priority for us.

As part of our quarterly review process, this priority will remain in place from March 2026 until the next review in 3 months

    Issued 01 June 2026

    Action taken:

There continues to be a gradual reduction in rural crime and burglaries across the Rural North area, which remains encouraging at this mid-point in the year.

While occasional reports of rural-related incidents and burglaries are still being received, overall levels continue to remain lower.

Recent incidents include theft of a milk float which was subsequently recovered with its engine removed, theft of horsebox and theft of diesel from a farm.

Rural patrols remain ongoing, with continued efforts to identify opportunities for disruption and prevention. A proactive approach is being maintained to help sustain and build on the reduction seen so far.

  • Priority:

    Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB):

Through various community engagement channels, including our official social media platforms, public meetings, Neighbourhood Link surveys, active investigations and beat surgeries, residents have recently raised increased concerns about ongoing anti-social behaviour in certain areas of the beat.

This includes issues such as public disorder, nuisance behaviour, and occasionally incidents of intimidation in public spaces.

The feedback highlights a strong desire for increased police visibility, targeted patrols, and collaborative problem-solving to tackle these behaviours, improve community safety, and reassure local residents.

    Issued 01 June 2026

    Action taken:

Following recent incident reviews, ongoing investigations, and community feedback, there has been a positive reduction in antisocial behaviour (ASB) incidents across the beat, including within Bottesford.

This improvement is likely as a result of the proactive and coordinated work between local authorities and the community.

Despite this progress, ASB incidents do remain sporadic in certain areas and so proactive patrols will be remaining in place as well as the onward management of the Bottesford problem management plan.
