HGVs ignoring the weight restriction and using roads in Ellistown, Ibstock and Heather when they are not permitted to do so.
Issued 01 July 2026
You said HGVs are ignoring the weight restriction and using roads in Ellistown, Ibstock and Heather when they are not permitted to do so.
This has been particularly noted on Whitehill Road and Ibstock Road in Ellistown, Leicester Road, Station Road and Ashby Road in Ibstock and Pisca Lane and Swepstone Road in Heather.
This has been communicated through Neighbourhood Link (NHL) surveys, e-mails and calls to the Beat Team and discussed at our community events.
We have stopped a number of HGVs and found a high proportion are travelling lawfully within the weight restriction either delivering or picking up a load and therefore exempt. Or their depot is within the area so are also exempt. We have, however, identified some drivers using the area as a short cut and with no exemption. Drivers found to be breaching with no lawful exemption have been reported for the relevant offence(s).

Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) and the use of off road motorbikes and electric motorbikes in Agar Nook in and around Twyford Close.
Issued 01 July 2026
You said some residents and visitors to the area are causing Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) on some of the residential streets in Agar Nook.
This has been communicated through Neighbourhood Link (NHL) surveys, e-mails and calls to the Beat Team and partner agencies. These include North West Leicestershire District Council and housing providers such as East Midlands Housing.
As you local Beat Team we have made several patrols to Agar Nook and surrounding areas on pro active ASB patrols. We are there almost daily and made 17 visits in July. These allowed engagements with residents and vistiors to the area with a police presence helping to deter any issues.
We dealt with a rider of an off road motorbike, who was using it in an anti social manner, and issued with a s.59 Police Reform Act warning. We seized the bike and separately we have dealt with a rider of an e-scooter.
