Anti social behaviour increase, particularly reports concerning young persons. The hotspots for these are focused on the Agar Nook Estate and surrounding roads, and the Greenhill area.
Issued 01 January 2023
Patrol 'way-markers' have been created that have led to increased patrolling of these areas by both 'Response teams', and the Neighbourhood team in North West Leicestershire. We have worked with partners, and local councillors to tackle these issues in unison, and have listened to residents concerns through Beat Surgeries, and Neighbourhood Link sign up engagement.
In March 2022 we conducted a search warrant at a retail premises on the beat believed to be assisting / encouraging the youth anti social behaviour.
In response to reports of ASB (eggs being thrown at houses) from residents on 25th June, cctv was checked, house to house conducted, extra patrolling done, and leaflet drops made appealing for help from residents.
Perpetrators were identified as a result of this, and formal warnings for ASB were issued. To date there have been no further reports of this type of ASB.
The team have also been doing a lot of education work in local Schools, patrolling, and investigation, in relation to knock and run / criminal damage incidents that are particularly worrying to the vulnerable and elderly on the Beat area. A number of youths have had warning letters issued, or out of court disposals served in the presence of their parents.
The team have been a regular presence at the Greenhill youth club, working closely with the team there, and helping to raise funds, and to secure equipment for the club.
Again working with partners, we have also secured a number of civil orders against young persons living in the locality.
Police criminal powers have been used robustly where appropriate to tackle issues identified by Officers on patrol, and reported by residents.

Off-road motorbikes using land on multiple sites across the whole beat area. This occurs all year round, but is a particular problem in the Summer months.
Issued 01 January 2023
The team have done a lot of work historically around this issue, and have run a number of Policing Operations with local Officers, partners, and specialist police teams involved. This good work was noted by local residents and County Councillor Keith Merrie at the end of 2021.
Lots of patrolling has already been done by the Neighbourhood team, and local Response Officers around this issue, and a number of bikes seized under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002.
We are receiving lots of reports from local residents which is greatly assisting our ability to be proactive, tackle the issue, seize the bikes used, and identify and deal with the riders.
NN45 Beat PCSOs will continue to plan and execute Policing Operations regarding this issue, utilising local and Specialist Officers. These will run predominantly in the 'warm' months when this problem is at its worst.
Reports were received on 24th June regarding off-road bikes being ridden up and down Castle Rock Drive. Patrolling was done but no offenders were seen.

Jan, 2023. There has been a significant drop off of activity and asb reports regarding off road bikes during the colder months, despite a multi agency and Police team operation being planned by PCSO 6500. This was not run due to the lack of activity / asb. The Beat team will review whether this priority needs to be parked until the Spring due to a lack of asb activity, and another potentially more relevant priority chosen in the interim, at their next team meeting.

Drug Dealing across the whole of the NN45 Beat area, both localised, and as part of the County Lines networks dealing Class A controlled drugs. There is also the associated issue of the 'cuckooing' of vulnerable persons living in the area, to use them and their addresses to facilitate the supply of controlled drugs.

Jan 2023. Response and Neighbourhood Officers have actively patrolled the beat area conducting intelligence led stop searches on individuals and vehicles to target and restrict the supply of controlled drugs in the Community. We supported the country-wide 'County Lines' week of action, executing a number of drugs warrants on addresses within the Beat area. We have developed local reports from concerned residents, and from 'Crime Stoppers' about drug activity, and have then followed up with enforcement where appropriate.
We work closely with our partner agencies to help identify and support those most vulnerable from the damage done by drug dealers in our Community. Further activity updates to follow.
