    Action taken:

  • Priority:

HGVs ignoring the weight restriction and using roads in Ellistown, Ibstock and Heather when they are not permitted to do so.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

You said HGVs are ignoring the weight restriction and using roads in Ellistown, Ibstock and Heather when they are not permitted to do so.

This has been particularly noted on Whitehill Road and Ibstock Road in Ellistown, Leicester Road, Station Road and Ashby Road in Ibstock and Pisca Lane and Swepstone Road in Heather.

This has been communicated through Neighbourhood Link (NHL) surveys, e-mails and calls to the Beat Team and discussed at our community events.

We have conducted 9 days of HGV checks over August. During this time we are finding the drivers are legally within the weight restricted area and are not contravening any conditions.

This is only possible when stopping and checking paperwork and not when simply seeing an HGV driving past.

We have posted on social media to raise awareness of this.

We are aware some drives may be breaching and will continue our patrols in attempts to stop these.

    Actioned 02 September 2026

  • Priority:

Vehicles travelling at an excessive speed on Grange Road in Hugglescote, Leicester Road in Whitwick, Thornborough Road in Whitwick and Loughborough Road in Thringstone.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

You said cars are driving at an excessive speed on Grange Road in Hugglescote, Leicester Road in Whitwick, Thornborough Road in Whitwick and Loughborough Road in Thringstone.

This has been communicated through Neighbourhood Link (NHL) surveys, e-mails and calls to the Beat Team and discussed at our community events.

We have been made patrols and monitoring checks on roads reported as having issues with speeding throughout August. This included in Heather, Ibstock, Hugglescote, Whitwick and Thringstone.

A motorbike was seized when used antisocially in Ibstock under s.59 of the Police Reform Act. This was identified by officers with swift action taken to remove a nuisance vehicle from the community.

Social media posts were put out around speeding danger awareness and speeding statistics.

We continue to respond to the community and the various submissions of information or intelligence linked to speeding is processed by the Beat Team.

    Actioned 02 September 2026

  • Priority:

Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) and the use of off road motorbikes and electric motorbikes in Agar Nook in and around Twyford Close.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

You said some residents and visitors to the area are causing Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) on some of the residential streets in Agar Nook.

This has been communicated through Neighbourhood Link (NHL) surveys, e-mails and calls to the Beat Team and partner agencies. These include North West Leicestershire District Council and housing providers such as East Midlands Housing.

We made 25 patrols over August to the area of Agar Nook with all members of the Beat Team visiting frequently.
We conducted a patch walk with East Midlands Housing to show a joint presence to residents and the community.

We regularly take time to speak with local children and anyone who would like to discuss local policing issues.

During patrols we have seized a vehicle suspected of being involved in crime and seized 3 motorbikes suspected of being stolen or involved in ASB. One arrest was made in connection with these with inquiries ongoing.

    Actioned 02 September 2026
