I have served as a police officer since 2001, beginning my career with Dyfed-Powys Police before transferring to Leicestershire Police in 2007. My experience spans various operational roles, including response and neighbourhood policing, and I hold specialist command qualifications in firearms and public order.
I currently lead the South Leicester Neighbourhood Policing Area, working collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and the community to enhance safety and quality of life across the region.

With three years as a Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant, Sergeant Liz Crowson leads the dedicated teams covering the Saffron Lane and Eyres Monsell estates.
Passionate about proactive policing, she thrives on being out and about in the community—meeting residents, building trust, and gaining an understanding of the issues that matter most.
Liz enjoys getting to know the key individuals who cause the most harm and works closely with her team to tackle these challenges head-on. Her approach is rooted in visibility, partnership, and problem-solving, ensuring that long-term solutions are found for persistent issues.

I currently cover Freeman beat and I am enjoying getting to grips with my new role, I am looking forward to getting to know and serving the community and helping people in any way that I can.

I will be holding local beat surgeries, attending community events, and I look forward to meeting you all in the future.

  • Our priorities
  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Drugs - Proactive patrols and intelligence gathering are ongoing across the estate. The beat team continues to target those who are known to be dealing and taking illegal drugs.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

An address in the Saffron Lane estate has recently been brought to the attention of the local team after reports were made relating to drug activity within the property and in the surrounding area. Patrols and enquires have been made locally to identify those involved and partnership work with council is underway to identify and deal with the tenant

    Actioned 01 September 2026

  • Priority:

We have been made aware of a number of vehicles parked across the estate which don't have relevant documents, and also e-scooters, bikes and vehicles moving dangerously and in an anti-social manner.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

Five vehicles have been seized in the Freemen beat area this month for being driven on the public road without the correct insurance under the Section 165 policing power. The rule is simple if you do not have the correct documentation to operate a vehicle and you are caught by police it will be taken and further action could be taken

    Actioned 01 September 2026

  • Priority:

We have been made aware of continued Anti-Social Behaviour in the green spaces across the Freemen beat. Officers will be visiting local schools and reconnecting with businesses on the beat.
We are continuing with this priority as the evenings are getting lighter.

    Issued 01 July 2026

    Action taken:

Patrols in open space areas have continued during the summer months, aside from issues in The Wash-Brook Nature Reserve there have been no ongoing problems that have required significant resources. Enquires where made to identify those involved when a fire was set in this area using local CCTV but sadly no suspects were identified, patrols have taken place to deter any repeat offences which has appeared to have prevented this from happening again.

    Actioned 01 September 2026
