As part of Operation HABITUAL, the team have carried out regular high-visibility patrols at peak times to provide reassurance to park users, gather intelligence and deter offending. These patrols have enabled officers to identify individuals involved in anti-social behaviour and take positive action where appropriate.

During August, officers identified two suspects riding motorcycles anti-socially within the park area. Following identification, the matter is being progressed through the incremental approach, ensuring proportionate intervention and engagement with both the individuals involved and their families, while considering further enforcement options should the behaviour continue.

The team will continue to utilise targeted patrols, intelligence-led activity and partnership working to address anti-social behaviour, improve safety within Braunstone Park and maintain public confidence. Throughout August, officers have remained focused on tackling speeding and the anti-social use of e-bikes, e-scooters and off-road motorbikes, which continue to impact the local community.

As part of this ongoing work, the team conducted further Operation PEDALFAST activity, targeting those using e-bikes and e-scooters illegally or in a manner that poses a risk to the public. During August, the operation resulted in the seizure of six e-bikes and three e-scooters, helping to remove unsafe vehicles from the streets and send a clear message that anti-social and unlawful use of these vehicles will not be tolerated.

Officers have also taken robust action against wider road traffic offending. During the month, a Motability vehicle was seized following the detection of driving offences, including drug driving, ensuring that an unsafe driver was removed from the road and reducing the risk posed to other road users.

In addition, the beat team have issued numerous Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) for a range of road traffic offences, including driving standards, vehicle offences and other matters identified during proactive patrols. These enforcement activities aim to improve driver behaviour and enhance safety for all road users.

The team recognise the impact that speeding, dangerous driving and anti-social vehicle use can have on residents' quality of life and will continue to carry out targeted operations, enforcement activity and high-visibility patrols throughout the coming months.

A significant piece of activity during the month was a cuckooing operation on Chesterton Walk, targeting an address believed to be linked to drug-related activity and the exploitation of vulnerable occupants. As a result of the operation, two individuals were arrested, with one subsequently charged and remanded into custody. This action has disrupted criminal activity and safeguarded those vulnerable to being exploited by offenders involved in the local drugs trade.

The team have also worked closely with partner agencies to address persistent drug-related issues at residential addresses causing harm to the wider community. During August, officers successfully obtained a Partial Closure Order for an address on Gaddesby Avenue following ongoing concerns regarding drug dealing and drug use at the property. The order places restrictions on access to the address and provides police with additional powers to prevent further offending and protect local residents from the associated anti-social behaviour.

These results demonstrate the team's commitment to using a range of enforcement and safeguarding tactics to tackle drug-related harm. By combining proactive operations, arrests, court orders and partnership working, officers continue to disrupt offenders while protecting vulnerable members of the community.

Alongside this activity, the beat team continue to gather intelligence, develop investigations and work with housing providers, local authorities and specialist support services to identify further opportunities to target those involved in the supply and use of illegal drugs.
