The beat team aim to tackle different elements of ASB in Mountsorrel, including the use of e-bikes and scooters.
Issued 01 March 2026
Following on from last month, I advised that there had been a report of antisocial behaviour (ASB) and criminal damage at Mountsorrel Memorial Park. I now have an update.
Officers have worked hard to identify those involved. I can confirm that one individual has been interviewed, admitted responsibility for the damage, and has been referred to the Leicestershire County Council Young Person and Wellbeing Service.
In addition, three other individuals who were present at the time of the incident have been identified. They have been dealt with through the appropriate stage of the ASB incremental approach.
We continue to carry out patrols in local hotspot areas, maintaining a high-visibility presence within the community.
During recent patrols, officers identified a young person riding a mini motorbike. The officer recognised the rider, and a follow-up visit was conducted. Appropriate advice was given in the presence of a parent.

The beat team aim to tackle speeding in Mountsorrel
Issued 01 March 2026
We have carried out speed checks on Walton Way, Mountsorrel as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety in the area.
This month, we carried out speed checks on Walton Way following recent concerns raised by local residents that, despite traffic calming measures, vehicles were still exceeding the speed limit.
During our time at the location, we monitored approximately 70 vehicles. Encouragingly, only one vehicle was recorded as slightly over the speed limit.
Visible police presence can play a key role in reducing speeding, as it acts as a deterrent and encourages drivers to be more mindful of their behavior. We will continue to carry out checks where concerns are raised to help keep our roads safe.

Burglaries in and around Mountsorrel
Issued 01 March 2026
There have been no reported burglaries within Mountsorrel over the past month. Officers from the team have been conducting high-visibility patrols in the area to provide reassurance and deter criminal activity.
Residents are reminded to continue taking simple crime prevention measures to help protect their homes, such as ensuring doors and windows are locked, using external lighting where possible, and keeping valuables out of sight.
If you are away from home, consider using timers on lights or asking a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on your property.
