Your dedicated neighbourhood team
Your Dedicated Neighbourhood Team (DNT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area, supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Dealing with anti-social behaviour and road safety involving the illegal use of e-scooters and e-bikes across the ward.
Action taken:
We Did: We continue to target antisocial behaviour connected to e-scooters and e-bikes where possible. As the darker nights approach patrol on parks and open spaces will take place to seize e-bikes/e-scooters where we can lay hands on them. We couple this with consistent messaging during beat engagements around the illegality of these items.

Dealing with the production of class B drugs on the area, in addition to tackling the use and supply of both class A and B drugs in areas where this affects the local community.
Action taken:
We Did: In September we continued the excellent work targeting this issue. As a beat team we’ve continued our proactive approach to street drug use on the beat, with numerous further stop searches conducted. We also identified and dismantled another cannabis grow on Alma Street, which will be returned to lawful use by a deserving tenant in due course.

Reducing excess speed and improving road safety on the ward.
Action taken:
We Did: In September in relation to the previous period's priority around vehicles being broken into, we conducted extensive enquiries to assist investigations into any vehicle crimes on the beat. We have also established an operation staffed by the beat team and supported by the wider NPA involving increased foot patrol locally, particularly around Glenfield Road East, Flora Street, Kate Street, Tudor Road and the streets of Tudor Road.
