This site is a beta, which means it's a work in progress and we'll be adding more to it over the next few weeks. Your feedback helps us make things better, so please let us know what you think.
Particular areas of concern include Abingdon Road (large numbers of young people gathering but numbers reducing), St James Rd and Evington Rd (street drinking), Onslow Park, picked up from patch walk with multi-agencies and Cllr on 15/10/24

There have been several reports of small, isolated fires around the corridor of Roslyn Street between Mere Road and St Stephen’s Road. This is predominantly at sites of fly-tipping. CCTV has been conducted and is continuing to identify the offender(s). We are going to be working with our Leicestershire fire colleagues and the neighbouring Spinney Hills beat team to set up a joint operation. If you have any information, please contact Crimestoppers as this can be done anonymously if you wish. We value any leads in this matter. Please ensure you use the ‘LOVE CLEAN STREETS’ App for Leicester City Council. Sending them a photograph geo-locates where the issue is for them to arrange clearance. Fly tipping is a criminal offence which you can be prosecuted for and the Council can instigate severe fines.
You may have seen the Leicester Mercury article detailing that PC Woolley was assaulted on duty on Abingdon Road. He was pushed as he tried to effect the arrest of a male for a public order offence.
We are pleased that the courts have dealt with the matter. The culprit received a 12-month community order requiring him to do 100 hours of unpaid work and to compensate the officer £100. We will not tolerate this behaviour and officers do not come to work in our community to get assaulted. The matter demonstrates our determination to keep the streets safe.
We understand that the Ward Meeting that was cancelled in May will now likely be happening in July. We will advertise when we’re informed by the Councillors.
Please do report any ASB issues through to us via 101 or by emailing [email protected]

Drug dealing (Abingdon Rd, Evington Footway, St James Rd), associated noise and accessing communal blocks (St Albans), littering of drugs packaging in open areas (Abingdon Road, Onslow Park)
Issued 05 January 2025
The team have conducted 13 stop searches on the beat this month. Out of these, 5 positively located illegal drugs. We do this when it is driven by intelligence and suspicious behaviour.
Searches have been done on Abingdon Road, College Street, Conduit Street in particular, to support our endeavours at these hotspot locations.
Since the 1st January 2025, in total 121 stop searches have been carried out on the NE15 beat. Not all of these will be to target drugs (they could be weapons, for instance). This is only one tool in the disruption of illegal drug supply on our streets. For instanced, drug search warrants are in the planning stage and we will continue our joint work with the Neighbourhood Priority Team (NPT) who will be doing pro-active patrols in the summer.
Remember, you can report to Crimestoppers www.crimestoppers-uk.org 0800 555111 or their youth service Fearless.

Community patch walk with partners on 15/10/24 raised these road safety related issues. The summer period was not conducive to organising an effective campaign but plans in place to address this over the autumn and winter.

PC Woolley and PC L’homme have been out on patrol and dealing with issues on Evington Road. Numerous Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) have been issued around inconsiderate parking, use of mobile phone whilst driving, no wearing seat belts, and persons no abiding by traffic laws (such as driving the wrong way down a one-way street). We appreciate the public’s support on this important issue.
Please remember that the bus lane cameras have been activated on Evington Road. This is designed to ease congestion and deal with inconsiderate parking.
